My Story
It all started the day I couldn't lift my own carry-on into the overhead bin. I knew then and there that I needed to make some real changes to feel strong in my body.
I made my way into a gym weight room for the first time. It was uncomfortable. I felt like everyone was watching me. I didn’t know what to do besides bicep curls, and I felt the heat in face rise because I just felt lost. So, I began ripping workout routines out of fitness magazines taking them to the gym, hoping to find an empty corner to do the workout stuffed in my pocket. On a rainy spring day after six months of cardio machines and crumbled pages of workouts, I marched into a big corporate gym and hired a female trainer.
Two short months later, I had learned how to squat properly, how to use all those free weights, and what the mind/muscle connection is. There was a basic diet plan set up (but I was HUNGRY!). There was progress too, so I went all in and decided to compete in a bodybuilding show. I always wanted the confidence to put on a bikini and feel great about it. Fifteen weeks later, 20lbs lighter, and sporting three spray tans, I marched my booty on stage and reached my goal. True confidence in a bikini! I didn’t place or win trophies, but something in me had shifted. I had fallen in love with the fitness life.
Now, every lunch break or between clients, I was reading about nutrition, carrying my Arnold bodybuilding book in my backpack, and started cutting back hours at work to go the gym as often as possible.
Having gone through the biggest heartbreak of my life before I stepped foot in that gym a year prior, now I had found a place to rebuild my strength, not just physically, but within my soul. It was a place I could spend time making myself better. It was the place I could go with my new friends, and for the first time in my life, other women were approaching me asking if I could help them work out too.
When I started training professionally, I committed myself to being the best coach and trainer I can possibly be. This is easy to do with that fire of passion lives inside ;-) I strive to be not only your coach, but also a teacher, and support system. I constantly ask myself how can I teach women what I wish I knew when I first started on this journey. I start my workday with a grateful heart because I work with amazing women, and together we improve the quality of their lives.
Working with me you will learn how to train your body safely and effectively. You will have a clear understanding of your workouts and what to do in the gym.
